Live footage of this mysterious creature with tentacles and wings is sending internet s into a frenzy.
Appearing to have the body of a moth and four tendrils sprouting from its abdomen, people are freaking out about what this extra-terrestrial creature actually is.
So what is it?
The post, shared on Facebook, has been viewed over 37 million times since last Thursday with more people continuing to look into what this mysterious creature is.
Many people are reacting with the comment, "I would literally burn the house down if I saw this."
Another wrote, "I'm usually not creeped out by bugs but, ugh I wouldn't touch that."
Those creepy tentacle-like-legs, are called coremata, and they are actually scent organs that are used to produce pheromones to attract a mate.
Found across Asia and Australia the strange creature is labelled as a Creatonotos gangis moth.
It can also be discovered in India, Sri Lanka, Japan, Thailand and New Guinea.
The moth feeds on plants which produce high amounts of pyrrolizidine alkaloids which deter predators, as well as create a stronger pheromone scent. These moths have also become notorious for wrecking havoc on pomegranate trees.
